Eldar of Mount Eldahar Orion
Elluva,
Lord of the Long Word
|
|
To have a spirit or not to have a spirit When the Eldar and all the refugees of the Homelands fled through Baphomet's Voidal gateways into the Heartstone of Eldahar and safety, they arrived without spirits as "immigrant souls". Only after dying or giving birth and having children did the refugees earn their status as citizen's of Eldahar and gain a recognized spirit made from the "spiritual stuff" of Eldahar - their transmutation to "Eldahar matter" complete. The Eldar though couldn't
have children and lived forever so they never gained a spirit or indeed
"citizenship" to Eldahar's reality, their
substance remaining pure, undiluted and unchanged over 2600 years. This
had its good points and bad;-

After Orion's disappearance and rumored assassination by his own Eldar (especially Elluva), Elluva succeeded to the position of Head of the Eldar Council despite outrage and protests from other Qual such as Louhri, Nydarn and Hannelin. Through these perilous years Elluva ruled the surviving Qual with an iron fist - banishing Louhri to the northern wastes and declaring Nydarn to be a traitor. With his good friend Lurienn at his side, Elluva began a hunt for the Black Elves (Orion's last great experiment) with the intention of exterminating every last one of them but became distracted when a being calling itself Rouse - Lord of Law, came before him. Rouse offered Elluva protection against an evil brewing in the north but Elluva turned the Lord of Law down. Only after nearly losing everything against the forces of the Chaos Lord, Mor did Elluva reconsider and accept Rouse's aid. Becoming Rouse's High Priest on Eldahar (again against the advice of his fellow Qual), Elluva soon found himself battling the forces of Chaos instead of serving the interests of his own people. Ever since Elluva has become obsessed with ridding Eldahar of Chaos and purifying the Heartstone of all its poisons (Orion included). Sacrificing some of his own kind in this jihad (and innumerable humans etc), Elluva is as relentless as they come. Wielding the Heart of Rouse, Elluva displays himself with an illusionary pair of wings (just like Orion's) and surrounded in a "holy-like" nimbus. He does not tolerate insolence, lack of respect or poor conduct. His justice is harsh and to the point with his attitude often ruthless but calculating. He has no time for bargains - absolutely refuses to give in to blackmail and makes no deals with anyone. It's either his way or no way at all. He is not the sort to forgive and forget. If you get on Elluva's wrong side, you'll soon know it. |

Guardian of the Past - Keeper of Gifts - Guardian of the Law Lurienn cuts a striking figure with his solid gold left hand, one golden eye and one silver. He is no longer just an Eldar Qual but a Servant of Rouse and the Cosmic Principle's of Law. Utterly loyal to Elluva and Elluva's strongarm methods of rule, Lurienn however remains a voice of wisdom, attempting to resolve disputes through research and communication before resorting to violence. Flying a silver dragon into battle against Mordark and wielding the sword "Justice" - a weapon of incredible power, able to judge a person's very existence, Lurienn is Elluva's Herald and Rouse's First Knight of Law. |

Embassador to the People Sarial
is the most balanced and approachable of all the Eldar Qual, carrying himself
with an Eldar's bearing but lacking the typical arrogance. Assigned by
Elluva to deal with the "lesser races", Sarial is a master of diplomacy,
law, languages and folklore. But behind his seemingly kind and polite exterior
races a cool, calculating, devious mind. Never striking at his enemies
directly, Sarial will instead plot for months or years to bring about their
downfall.
When visiting other countries Sarial will
often coerce its rulers to go along with Eldar initiatives (but never admit
it - all part of the great Eldar conspiracy). If the rulers fear the Eldar
for their tremendous power, many treat Sarial like an Angel and see his
visits as sacred blessings.

Quiverin is without a doubt the best warrior on Eldahar, purely for one reason and one reason only - he has spent over 3540 years training in every conceivable weapon and martial art - including dozens he has actually invented himself. Originally Battlemaster of the Qual - representing his people in the Grand Tourney of Orion, Quiverin became The Avenger of the Qual upon the destruction of Silvosa and the resulting exodus through the gates. He spent many years hunting the human renegades who had destroyed his world before finally settling like the other survivors of his kind upon Eldahar. At heart, a good natured humorous fellow, Quiverin is more than willing to talk but less than willing to share. Instead, due to ever increasing boredom, he delights in living whole lives as a human, elf or dwarf. In fact several of Eldahar's most heroic champions have actually been Quiverin in disguise; getting Gideon to redact his mind and establish mental blocks, Quiverin actually convinces himself that he is these alternate characters in order to feel the challenge and excitement of more normal lives. Back seat driver
One of Quiverin's most famous alter ego's in 2600 is the Champion of Andor - Elias Entoi Faulk II. |

Alias Mythisin the Star Wolf Gideon exists as a pure mind (without the need for a body). One of the renegade human's who arrived on the Qual home world and eventually destroyed it, Gideon turned away from his fellow humans (who regarded him as a freak) to embrace Orion and the Qual instead (who regarded him as the pinnacle of mental evolution). Able to use his mental creation to create any body he chooses (male/female/animal etc), Gideon nearly always appears as something or someone different as he lacks any gender or racial bias. He perceives himself as both male and female, spiritually and mentally. Gideon
on Eldahar
By 2600 he generally settles into one of these forms;- Gideon
the Eldar - A slightly elven appearing human with blonde hair and
the fresh faced looks of about 25 years of age.
By 2617 and the events leading to Armageddon Clock, Gideon has settled firmly into his wolf form. He pads around the lands of the Midnight Sun, keeping an eye on Arun. |

Lady of Windows Haletha is a tall, willowy Eldar Lady. Like the rest of her kind she is possessed of elitist views and sees herself as superior to all other beings. Living like a Queen on Mount Eldahar surrounded by servants and riches that would make Emperor's jealous she rules the roost of the mountain, organizing parties, celebrations and gatherings. She spends most of her time playing various musical instruments and composing music. When not doing this she uses her special mental power of precognition to second-guess events in the world. Her title of Lady of Windows stems from a Titan artifact in her possession called the "Window of Day." It remains the only way the Eldar can teleport across huge distances - a fact she makes use of in exploiting Elluva's favor. |

Others Kerdel
& Nensayve
|
|
Sleeping Qual of the Grey Forge Kerdel and Nensayve were two deeply in love Qual - both with each other and Orion, the father of their Faith. They used their skill at Smithcraft and mental creation to aid Orion in the manufacture of Heartstones and various other objects (especially sentient golems which became a specialty). When Orion was ousted by Elluva and dissipated into the World's Astral plane, Kerdel and Nensayve feared for their lives and fled Mount Eldahar. In many ways they were right to do so because Elluva and many of the other Qual had begun doubting Orion's wisdom, believing him corrupted and manipulated by the power of the Titans. Elluva scoured the continent in search of them to no avail. Knowing their minds would give them away to Elluva's extensive mental searching, Kerdel and Nensayve placed themselves into a form of hibernation with the intent of Orion awakening them upon his return. They hid themselves in the state of Esia - Esium, deep underground in a secret forge, protected by Golems, magical wards and a Sigma 5000 force field generator for over 2000 years. Then one day in 2600, a couple of the Spirits of Akilla led by High Doman Grey of Wan discovered their lair and interrupted their sleep. They awoke and passed back into the World, searching for Orion. Kerdel

Louhri
was always Orion's
favorite Eldar Qual. She assisted the Father with all of his experiments
after devoting her entire youth to lengthy discussions about the nature
of the Universe and Universal Consciousness. Possessing a brilliant mind
and utterly dedicated nature she would have made a great successor as Leader
of the Qual if not for her falling out with Elluva. After Orion's disappearance
in 201 Louhri openly blamed Elluva - believing him to have assassinated
or conspired to assassinate the Father. Elluva (more popular because of
his personality and charisma) didn't take the accusations lying down and
would have had her killed if not for Sarial speaking on her behalf. Lacking
the influence of Elluva in the Eldar court Louhri settled on being banished
to the Far Northern wastes - a place in which Elluva thought she would
perish.
The Threat
After many months of anguish and struggle, Louhri clawed her way back into a position of power. Defying the Eldar's decree "not to interfere" or "to use her mind powers to influence others" she stuck two fingers up at Elluva and his puppets, establishing herself as an Ice Queen living in a Mountain of Ice. Without a people to rule over she embraced the most horrific of creatures - the Orn of Mordark, turning one tribe of them into something much more. She taught them how to fight the Qual way, how to build, organize, write and speak other tongues. After two hundred years they could no longer be called Orn - but Ice Orn. Not stopping there she broke another of Elluva's silent rules by transforming with her staggering Creative mental powers the greatest and most worthy of her Orn into Ice Fey. These Elves (pale skinned and fair haired) became her Palace Guard and close confidants - eventually over hundreds of years becoming a sub-race all of their own and numbering just over 800 in number (each one infertile) * Note Louhri would transform the Orn into Ice Fey children, redacting their memories, allowing them to grow up and experience another way of life. This transformation to a "higher being" became a part of Ice Orn religion. Those worthy enough would be rewarded with new life ! Why do all this?
Personality
Louhri doesn't show herself to people - preferring to speak via her mind or project herself using the Ice Crown (see below). Anyone that does gain an audience can expect a frosty reception as Orion's disappearance effected her deeply. She remains super intelligent, highly manipulative and an artful planner - projecting events sometimes 3 or 4 generations ahead whilst patiently awaiting an outcome or event to further her cause. She has no allies (choosing to go it alone) and only makes deals if there is something pretty impressive in it for her because if she can get what she wants through any other means she will. She will not kill out of hand - preferring to use her own laws and justice. She regards her justice and level headed approach to be her strength - condemning Elluva's lies and false Laws as "not the way Orion would have wanted them." This makes her a fair and neutral power in the scheme of things - a neutrality she has to maintain not only because of her beliefs but for the safety and Independence of her Kingdom. An Eldar Soul?
Ischandi agreed to give Louhri sanctuary in the northlands and the two became allies. Ischandi used his power over the Eternal Flame to give Louhri a soul and spirit - enabling her to use magical objects and see spirits. However he also gave the soul a flaw so that it would fade upon her death and could not be used to help make children (as Louhri like all Qual females was still barren). Learning about the World in a way no other Qual could gave Louhri the advantage she needed to fend off Mordark and Elluva's attempts to foil her plans. In time, using this gift of spirit and her own genius she manufactured several potent artifacts to aid her. |

| Special abilities | Description |
| Possession | Using her items Louhri can partly possess up to 2000 beings at one time - coercing them to follow her orders. |
| Mind barrier and teleport | Her creation is so powerful that she can erect a 100 AP (armor point) shield at will. Because of the gift of spirit from Ischandi she can teleport (like Mercy - but not split her mind) to anywhere within her kingdom. She's still worried about Quiverin coming to kill her if she teleports beyond her confines. |
| Prolepsis | 12th level ability derived from her Farsensing power. A rare sub ability that grants glimpses of future events. |
| Edit minds | Using her 14th level redaction she can erase and edit memories. |
| Magical artifacts | Description |
| The Six rings of Wisdom | 6 rings forged by the
Ice Fey and Louhri's mental will.
1) Fire Ring 10 AP / dice of damage protection. Mastery to 10th level. 2) Ice Ring 10 AP / dice etc. Mastery to 10th. 3) Air Ring 10 AP / dice etc. Mastery to 10th. 4) Earth 10 AP / dice etc. Mastery to 10th. 5) Mind Ring x 1.5 PP multiplier. 6) Spell Ring x 1.5 PP multiplier. +40% to cast. x 5 range. |
| The Ice Throne | Made by the Ice Fey
and Louhri from pure Ice containing a Dragon's dying breath.
Adds 5 spell levels on INTENSITY up to 10th max. 2 levels up to 15th max or 1 level up to 21st max ! Acts as a x 3 mind / spell PP multiplier. A x 50 range multiplier and x 25 radius multiplier ! One hell of a chair. |
| The Ice Crown | Made by Louhri when
worn this isomorphic Crown grants +25 AP. Anyone else picking the thing
up or wearing it is turned to ice every round at 16th level.
Besides the +25 AP it also grants +25% MR vs spells / mind. Can turn 5 targets per day to ice (12th level) at up to 250' range (sight only) and can be activated up to 5 times simultaneously (even on the same target - i.e. save 5 times at once !) It can also lower the temperature down to 1 degree above absolute zero in a 50' radius of the crown and allow the wearer to phase through ice at will. |
| Veil of Essa | Ancient Artifact that allows Louhri to converse directly with Essadalmox the Ice Dragon who sleeps below her mountain. |
| Blood of Mourning
AKA Blood of Baphomet |
A potent warning device. The blood is the Blood of Baphomet. It does not fade, cannot boil or freeze and resist's all attacks at 21st level with a magic resistance of 265%. If imbibed it pours out of a person's skin etc to reform on the ground with no effect. It's power lies in premonition... as Baphomet was attacked by Eskanu by surprise - the blood turns black at dawn if its owner is going to die that day and only returns to normal red if 1) the owner (Louhri dies) or she manages to change events enough to not die. |
| The Ice Harp | An instrument of otherworldly sound. When Louhri plays this Harp its music is said to travel the astral plane - seeking out Orion to comfort him, wherever he may be. |
| The Anck Stone | Peculiar Titan item that provides physical and mental haste at will. x 1.5 ! (One of its kind.) |
| The Sapphire Rose | A gift from Gideon. Containing the memories of their brief relationship together. |
| Fable's Tear | One of the Lady of Fate's golden tears. This single drop can completely resurrect a being who has been dead for thousands of years. The being must have had a soul to begin with - ruling out Orion, and the user of the tear must possess a piece of the person's hair or body. |
