The Chronicles of Wan

The story begins with High Doman Gray, the latest incarnation of a soul so powerful legends say it can touch the unattainable - Heaven, the 22nd Arda of Spiritual purity and accomplishment.

While still a young boy, Gray, spiritual leader of the Monks of Wan, is buried and killed beneath his home, the Temple of Wan near Gost Yaroch, by the Wraith Lord Laylak. There to release the three Kings of the Living Dark who Wan's servants have watched over for centuries, Laylak unwittingly creates his own nemesis in the boy whose dying soul attracts and bonds with something ancient and immortal.

Miraculously awakening sometime later with a mortal wound to his head, Gray discovers he is trapped in a limbo between life and death. Unable to die and fuelled with spiritual energy he sets off to avenge the slaughter of his monks. However his journey is not without problems. The immortal power that keeps the wound from killing him also prevents it from healing and makes his body and memories reset after several hours, back to the moment he was buried beneath his temple.

In an attempt to overcome this disability Gray begins writing everything down and reading about his exploits every time he awakes. Indeed this works for a while, but what he really needs is a companion, someone to remember things for him and keep him true to his purpose. To this end, he finds and befriends Alyx, last Priestess of the Goddess Akilla and an unlikely partnership begins.

The two young holy warriors embark on countless quests... to destroy Laylak, trap and ultimately destroy the Living Dark, free Heaven and bring down Titans. And if that weren't enough, along the way Alyx becomes the Spirit of Vengeance, then the new Goddess of the Dusk herself while Gray is reborn as Wan, Guardian of the Source and Lord of the Arda, destined to play a pivotal role in the final moments of Eldahar.

Other Principal Characters and Objects of the Broken Realm

King North - White streaks in his hair. Appears in his mid 30's. Scarred arms and body. Wielder of Need - the only link on the Broken Realm to the Source.
Queen Red - Red haired, fiery co-ruler of the Broken Realm - wielding the "damaged" sword Deed. Deed might now be a silent partner, but it is still a formidable weapon capable of tremendous feats. Created as a poor man's "copy" of the Sword Need, but instilled with an annoying (now silent) personality, the sword enables the Queen to perform true-strikes, speed strikes, heal herself and enhances any physical attribute for a limited duration.
Prince Christian - Son of North and Red. Wielder of the Blue sword and sole representative of Law on the Broken Realm. Aged 16. Dark hair, shoulder length. Medium but athletic build. 16 COM. Christian possesses great strength.
Lanolin the Archer - Old white haired male elf. Bow called Sun Shard. 96 SR in Great Bow (2d8 per arrow, imp 8 per dice) + 1d12 STR bon. Arrows are like fire bolts, inflicting 3d6 fire damage+3. Lanolin possesses an ancient but powerful blessing that allows him to rise from mortal injury 3 times in short succession before dying for good, within one day. If he sustains more than 3 mortal injuries in a single day, he dies an agonising death, equivalent to all 3 "deaths" rolled into one.
Brian - Mirror Specialist - Curly brown headed man with a bit of a belly.
Corbin - Master of Mirrors - Wears very thick glasses with multiple attachments and lenses, making his head look oversized and bug-like.
General Verner - One armed - left arm replaced by magic and metal. Appears 50 years of age. Luaci's sword - "Justice" - but broken, now but a shard of its former self. Rotund.
General Aidar - Who bears the Qual Sword - Slayer. Mid 20's. 5'11, heavier build, short brown hair, big nose, big chin, big ears, very big hands. Brimmed hat on and doublet, silver buttons, a wide, flared pair of pants. The Sword has been altered by North's own blade Need to be more effective now against Chaos.
Major Damian - Who carries a magical wall shield - creates mirror images of itself, 100 in each direction! Each shield lasts for 20AP, only moves if Damian moves and lasts for 3 rounds. 3 per day. A tremendous buffering device against enemy charges!
Elensyll Hawk - Of former Silverkeep. White hair, late 20's in appearance hanging down to backside, 5'10, slim of build, dressed in dark blue dress, knife at her side, necklace, pendant, white gold circlet, very pale blue eyes.
Breya - Istar's daughter - Has tear drop tattoos, one on each cheek. Blue hair with a white forelock, and appears to have half elven features, her ears lightly pointed, slim, silver crescent moon circlet on her brow, tends to wear sky blue dresses and an annulet set with a golden glowing stone.
Sentinels - aka North's Mirror Guard - last survivors of the Broken Realm. Circa 2617 - The Mirror Guard number 221 brave souls wearing war torn Mirror Mir armour.
Prescience - Highly advanced artificial life form created by Custodian Sebal during Sinsifel's first visit to the Broken Realm. Sebal left Prescience behind, along with the Arkysancture. Appears as a bald headed sexless humanoid with smooth silver metallic skin.
Arkysancture - Large oval crystal stone, retrieved from the wreckage of a vessel that crashed through the Idiom upon Eldahar Prime (The Sister Aegis); the Ark is essentially a data store containing the sum total of a whole planet broken down into data (the matrix of life), ranging from its various species to flora, fauna and terrain. If the Ark is ever fully activated, it will act as a Terra forming device, rewriting everything around it on a planetary scale to become the World of its Creators. Prescience is working on the unlock code to activate this power of the Ark. The Arkysancture, because of its scientific absolute content is perceived by Eldaharn and Eldahar as an object of extreme Lawfulness; because of this, it generates an immensely powerful field of Protection vs Chaos (putting Chaos at -100% to all actions!).
Ark lances - Powerful handheld weapons created by Prescience to combat Chaos. They appear like long spears made of some strange steel alloy, embedded with tiny crystals that gleam and catch the light. When activated (once per round), the lance fires a bolt of lethal searing light. Each lance can fire 15 bolts before needing a recharge. Each bolt has an effective range of 150 feet and does 6d6+6 heat damage. Normal lance damage is 2d6 +15% +3/+3 due to light weight, ease of use and machine sharpening / analysis of weight adjustments. Ark Lances recharge in proximity to the Arkysancture powered Elluvian Disk. Prescience has equipped many of North's guard with these weapons.
Elluvian Disk - Named after Elluva (RIP 14 years ago), the Elluvian Disk is not a creation of Prescience, but Elluva's own version of the Arkysancture. Prescience has simply made a device designed to draw information from the disk and convert it into power that can be used to "charge" other devices. The disk appears 2 feet wide and made of an amalgamation of metals and strange alloys. It is like a large metal record, its surface and subsequent depths, etched with untold and unfathomable quantities of information. When the disk is activated, it spins (just like a record). A crystal tipped needle scrapes along it, "reading" the information. As the info is read, the crystal responds to the "Law" that it "reads" by glowing brighter and brighter... energy is the conducted away from the device to a dozen receptors that can then be used to charge "Law" devices slotted into them. *Note - Elluva knew for a long time what the Arkysancture actually was and long before the final battle against Chaos and the splitting of Eldahar, he began to work on his own version of it... the disk is essentially an almost indestructible record of Qual history. Everything about the Qual, their race and the other 6 Star races is embedded in the disk. It contains their history, their biology, their thoughts - everything. Before Elluva died, he entrusted the Disk to North saying - Should we fail today, we, the Children of Orion will be no more. I entrust to you all that will remain, a testament to our accomplishments... a tombstone to forever mark our failures.
The Ark Cannon - Powerful device created by Prescience to obliterate Chaos forces. Fires a concentrated stream of light containing DNA sequences and Phyrion Radiation particles. Anything struck by the cannon is genetically rewritten over the space of several seconds. The cannon can fire once a minute over a maximum 15 mile range. It is firmly entrenched and positioned within the Citadel of Mirrors.
Alkiums - Stones created by Prescience that can be set into pendants or carried attached to weapons. The stones range in size from golf ball to breeze-block. Each raw stone is targeted with a laser, cut to precise size and measurement utilising Numerology; the stones are imprinted both on the surface and inside by flow lines and symbols of science, thereby giving them a powerful Lawful effect upon anything of Chaos. Equivalent to +25% MR vs Chaos and its magic as well as putting anything of Chaos at -25% to all actions (save vs 10th level). The largest Alkiums are effective at 50 feet radius. Alkiums resonate with one another too, gaining +5% from proximity with one another vs Chaos (up to a maximum of +50%). Prescience has managed to manufacture 500 Alkium stones for the battle vs Morgrim's forces.
Captain Vale of the Mirror Guard - Aged 44. One eye (left). Blue cloth covering other. Missing 3 fingers on his right hand (bitten off by the Chrundrokk while carrying out a rescue attempt 4 years ago.)
Mirror Mages - Descendants from Sevekar to the South of Sardium, Mirror Mages number less than 20. Their "magical" art is slowly disappearing along with their special mirrors. 154 mirrors remain in existence within the Citadel. Over 200 more have been smashed during attacks by Chaos. It takes up to one month to manufacture a mirror with only half a dozen ever in production at any given time.
Griffins - Giant golden birds used by the Mirror Guard to battle Mor's winged horrors. The Mirror Guard fight in the air with deadly lances (4d6 damage - every 6 is an impale for an extra dice of damage!).
Morgul Hunters - Men crossed with jackals - savage groups of hunters that patrol the open wastelands of the Broken Realm.
The First Eternal - Morzûl was the First Eternal of Morgrim for over a thousand years. But, after being defeated and banished to the Broken Realm by North and the power of Need, Morgrim punished Morzûl by banishing him to Morgrim's home plane of Mor'gatha. Ruling in Morzûl's place came the younger Menekkra; Menekkra successfully wiped out the remaining Qual and the followers of Law but repeatedly failed in subsequent years to defeat King North. Eventually, frustrated by his new First Eternal's continued failure and the rapidly approaching single most important battle of his existence, Morgrim decided at zero hour to give Morzûl one last chance. Released from his Chaotic prison, even more powerful than before (like a very smelly mouldy cheese), Morzûl unleashed his new powers upon Menekkra, consigning the young upstart to a fate worse than death (times manyfold!).
